Job Title: Church Secretary
Reports to the Pastor and the Council

The Church Secretary demonstrates their Christian faith and unique gifts through service to the church, by fostering an environment of hospitality, assisting the pastor in his ministry, helping the committees and council carry out their work, and being the central source of communication and information for the congregation.

Tasks
- Create a welcoming and helpful office environment
- Facilitate communication between pastor, congregants, and outside groups
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, including all common spaces in the church
- Manage expenses, track spending, and order supplies
- Build and distribute weekly bulletins
- Write and distribute monthly newsletters
- Collect, file, and distribute monthly committee meeting minutes, packets, and reports
- Maintain and update congregational records
- Schedule worship volunteers
- Manage delivery of mail and packages, mail out bulletins and newsletters
Abilities
1. Exceptional written and oral communication
2. Familiarity with liturgical traditional Christianity
3. Manage many, many low-priority items simultaneously
4. Complete large-project items (new website, research proposals, data analysis, etc.)
Hours & Benefits
Starting Pay: Up to $21.50/hour
Hours
· Monday through Thursday, 4 hours per day
· Authorization for occasional additional hours as needed
· Sick Leave: Four Days Paid Per Year
· Vacation: Four Days Per Year after Six Months
Office Closed (days which fall under regular four day workweek are paid):
- Memorial Day; 4th of July; Labor Day; Thanksgiving & Thanksgiving Friday
- Christmas Eve through New Years Day

· Performance & salary review after 60 days, and annually thereafter.
